MISSION for FACULTY
Full-time faculty are critical positions at EDvance College, as they serve multiple functions as course instructors but are also very closely integrated into organizational operations such as shared governance, committees, planning, and institutional effectiveness. This full-time,10-month position includes instruction, curriculum development, support, and service.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Academic Instruction and Curriculum (80%)
- Teaches a maximum of 4 courses per semester
- Designs and delivers curriculum in accordance with standardized policies, procedures, and The Edvance Way
- Attends remote and in-person retreats to collaborate with cohort faculty and ensures vertical and horizontal sequencing of instruction, assignments, and assessment learning outcomes
- Participates in Faculty Learning Communities (FLCs) regularly
- Participates in the Faculty Self-Review Process
- Works closely with the Associate Vice President of Early Childhood Studies and support staff to ensure student success
Service and Shared Governance (20%)
- Participates in relevant committees and shared governance structures as a regular member
- Participates in institutional and professional accreditation cycles and activities
- Participates in institutional effectiveness and research initiatives and activities in order to make recommendations for institutional improvements
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
The minimum education, experience, or other background required to be considered eligible to apply for, or otherwise perform the duties of the position being applied for. Candidates must meet all required qualifications to be eligible for employment.
- Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
- Minimum of two years (2) years experience in higher education with a demonstrated student-centered philosophy of education or professional coaching in ECE
- Experience working in an early childhood classroom
- If hired to teach in the Spanish pathway, must be bilingual in Spanish and English
- Demonstrated commitments to linguistic diversity and inclusion, and to strengthening educational resources, opportunities, and trajectories for historically marginalized students, families, and communities
- Experience in course design, teaching, and student support at the college/university level

Desired Qualifications:
Factors, experiences or circumstances that represent additional qualifications supporting fulfillment of the position. Candidates are not required to meet all desired qualifications to be eligible for employment.
- Proficiency using Canvas, Zoom, GoReact, Turnitin, and Google Workspace
- Experience working with state-subsidized preschools, Head Start programs, or Title V centers
- Experience with permit requirements and California ECE work requirements
- TESOL experience strongly preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish, Cantonese, and/or Mandarin strongly preferred
COMPENSATION
$83,000 to $96,000 per 10-month appointment
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and education.
Benefits dependent on course load. Positions hired at 75% time or higher are eligible for EDvance College's comprehensive benefits package (i.e., medical/dental/vision, 401k and additional peripheral benefits including but not limited to flexible spending accounts, life insurance, etc.).
Eligibility for benefits begins the first day of the month following the date of hire.
